Nightmares

You can run, you can hide,
But you're quite easy to find.
I smell your fear, I hear your cry.
I listen to you pray not to die.
You hear my footsteps and you cower.
Each second lasts as an hour.
I hear you breathe, I hear your heart pound.
While you think you haven't made a sound.
I track you down and bare my teeth.
Just as a shark's in the barrier reef.
I lunge as you let out your terrified scream.
But you jump out of bed from another bad dream.
